Did a lengthy reply, got timed out, could not log back in.
Forget carbon fiber, we had 3 Gitzo 3542L columns split and fail.
Manfrotto 475B and its previous model has held up fantastic in our abusive work environment.

In short. Spend the money or you will not be happy.

Hi guys,

I appreciate everyone's tips.

Does anyone know of a K&F company? are they any good?

I am looking at

K&F Concept TC2534T Lightweight 72 Inch Carbon Fiber Tripod Monopod Travel Tripod with 360° Ball Head

It seems like a good choice to go with.

There is also this one which is a bit cheaper

Carbon Fiber Camera Tripod,K&F Concept 66" Compact Travel Tripod Monopod With 360 Degree Ball Head
I purchased the 66" tripod in January. It has a metal ball head. It seems solid. I used it for a couple of 30 second exposures. Its a solid as my old aluminum tripod. I bought it new for $79.00 when Newegg had the Boxing week sale. Regular price for them seem to be anywhere from $190.00 to over $300.00. You will find better however they will be more expensive. I can't speak about durability, but it does seem solid. So if you don't plan on spending a lot then consider K&F.
