Installed wrong firmware update?

I thought I had the wrong firmware dut I don't my k5 is under exposing severly now and in manual full manual I can get a good exposure so could the 2x converter I used have fried somthing in the camera or could I have a second camera with aperture block sounds like another camera for kennedy's.

I have another camera to compare it too which is working fine except for a broken flash.

I have been through all the settings I can find id there anything that switches the on camera flash off or somthing that will effect the exposure which is almost black.

Sounds like a settings issue, so I'd do a reset. The camera wouldn't have let you install the wrong update.

The iso seems to be working at --- scratch that ---- the ev=/- was set at -5 and it Tav Mode it doesn't display on the camera just found it by pure luck. My flash is working properly on one camera now but still not working on the other.

These are really touchy cameras Adam but I am getting there.

I really blew it today two Ospreys sitting on a branch together and I under exposed them would have been awesome, by the time I corrected the iso one had flown off. bugger.

I've found its the ISO sensivity 80 gives no detail where as on an overcast day like today I need iso 2000 to get the detail in the clouds its just so sensitive and a complete reverse of film cameras I used to use agfa 50 and I got all the detail but 80 iso you have to be shooting into the light to get detail and if you turn 180 degrees you get a white wash unless you up the sensivitity to about 2000iso.

Yep had the correct firmware.

I'd suggest you reset to factory settings, turn to Green mode and shoot some images. Please poste those here with the EXIF data intact and we can see if we can spot a problem.

Sounds like you have the camera in semi manual and have your exposure all over the place.

Exposure consists of iso + shutter speed + aperture

If you use a lower iso you need a longer shutter and or larger aperture.
I'd advise using green or auto take note of the exposure the camera will use and go from there using hyper mode to ensure you don't break the exposure.

I hope you mean over-exposes. These are all too bright except the top one.

This segment metering has managed to keep the distant background behind the trees.

These she oaks are a brownish green leaf exposure looks good to me the top one I added somthing to give it the more greenish look but its too greem,

does a battery grip make a difference with the different power supply its set to auto for power.

I am just getting washed out and white photo's now - as for exposure through my eyes if I get a image that matches what I am looking at then I have a correct exposure.--- I would say somthing inside the camera stops working when it gets hot -----
