Pentax 645 Questions

Hello!
I just purchased a Pentax 645 off eBay. I cannot figure out how to change the shutter speed! Are there any shutterspeeds over than 1/60 and 1/1000?
HELP!

1/1000s is the fastest shutter speed, and I believe it can go as slow as 15s. You should be able to change the shutter speed using the buttons on the camera, but you may need to load film first, or at least cycle the shutter after installing the film holder. I can't remmeber exactly as it has been a while.

I think you have to go into the manual mode and then select other shutter speeds. It can definitely be done. You should alone check the manual, I found it very useful.

Kudos on your new 645. Easily my favorite film camera. The 645 has whole EV shutter speeds from 15 seconds to 1/1000", but without either film loaded or the 120/220 false back attached, you can't change shutter speeds or even trigger the shutter.

Here is manual to 645: http://www.cameramanuals.org/pentax_pdf/pentax_645.pdf
( I am not affiliated with this site but use it often and from time to time give donation).
On page 14 there is the statement that indeed with no film installed you cannot have anything but 1/1000 and 1/60
