Okay, thanks to all replies so far. This fits quite well with my observations. The screw below the slot didn‘t move anything. Removing the bottom part of the camera didn‘t give me access to the bolt. And I also removed any screws I found for the top cover, but it didn‘t move at all. So there are either screws covered somewhere or I just couldn‘t figure out how to do it.

A few repair videos for K5 show that the bolt should be free when the top cover is removed. Then I should be able to pull it out, replace the card slot cover and push it back in. But as said, I can‘t figure out how to remove the top part of the camera.
There are screws under the rubber covering on the body. You have to pry and peel back the rubber to expose them. You may need to re-qlue the rubber to the body with Pliobond or a like adhesive. You may need to de-solder connections in order to move the top cover enough to get at the assemblies you want to work on. Care must be taken not to break or damage any of the fragile strip/film cables. The weather seal gaskets should be replaced with new ones any time they are opened.

Also look for screws in the battery compartment.

You can get the K-3 K-3II door from USCamera Pentax SD Card Cover 77760-0A0210 | USCamera Pentax parts and moreUSCamera

It does appear that you need to take the top off the camera to remove the hinge pin, but that's an educated guess.

Well, I was able to get that door from a shop in Hamburg - the only one selling Pentax spare parts here in Germany. But if you're based in the US, you might find it easier to find a shop over there. However, I never really fixed the issue and the spare-door is still unused. I was not able to figure out how to replace the door without fully de-mounting the whole camera body - which is something I would rather leave to experts than do it myself.
