Cleaning Tamron SP 60-300

All,

I have a lovely Tamron 60-300 SP which I really like. It has a slight ring of haze on the inside of the front element. It looks like spider webs around the edges, plus some spots in the middle. Is this fungus? Grease? Both? Coating dissolving? Is it worthwhile to open it and clean under the lens? I use haze removal with this lens, but it is otherwise very sharp.

Let me know what you denizens think. Thank you!

"Spider webs" sounds like fungus. The front element may be easy to get at so you can deal with it, but I am no expert there. I have removed a front element on one of my lenses (a Sonnar) to clean off haze but fungus is another matter. I think your Tamron may be similar in terms of the front element being not cemented to other elements.
