I have a great fear of dropping things as my fingers are arthritic, and always worry when I see someone fiddling with their camera with the strap dangling down instead of around their neck, why do they bother to fit the strap?
It's good to always be in the habit of thinking about the value of the item you are about to put down and assess the safety aspect of your action.
Having had a total knee replacement and patella done five days ago, I am doubly conscious of this.

For literally months I've read his nickname as AsylFox, as in "asylum". I guess I never even asked myself why one would put such a word in its forum nickname. Maybe my mind needed a capitalized "S" to read it properly...

Ah I see!
I don't like camel case anyway when it results in two or more capital letters in a row (as it would have in this case), so...

I read it for a long time as 'asly fox' as well, only a couple months ago did I realise that it was 'a sly fox'.

Same thing with my K110d. Out in Algonquin I dropped it by a river lens first on the rock. Nothing worked when i picked it up, but started up fine a few hours later. Camera worked flawlessly until a few years later I think the shutter solenoid went. Still have the body sitting as a display piece.
