K-3 four way controller

My K-3's four way controller has stopped working. If I change photo modes or switch to live view, the options on the four way controller are accessible. But once I shoot, the four way controller doesn't work again. Thoughts?

Have you tried pressing the button to the right of the menu button (the one with the four-point icon)? Try keeping it pressed for a couple of seconds, you could simply be in the wrong mode (focus point selection).

It could also be that your preview time is long, and during the preview, unless you're zoomed, the 4-way doesnt do anything. Try squeezing your shutter halfway (like you would to auto-focus) and see if the stat screen comes on and the 4-way starts working.

LensBeginner .... You were right. I was in the wrong focus point selection mode. Four way controller worked in 27 point and single point modes. So, I learned something! Thanks so much for both responses.
