Quick bit of help please (K-1 custom settings)

I use live view with the zoom in function for a lot of precise focus needs.

The default setting is to turn the dial on top of the camera to activate the zoom.

How do I assign a button to that function rather than the dial?

Any pro tips and help are appreciated.

Anything stopping you from using the rear e-dial? I believe that's the default.

I think that is what I am using now. When in live view turn the dial and it goes to zoom.

I thought there was a non complicated way to customize it to a button instead of the dial.

If there is a way I might want to try it out and see if I like it or not.

I don't remember setting anything special, but on my K-1 when I press the "OK" button, in the center of the 4-way controller, it activates live view zoom. The 4 directional buttons control the position of the window and the rear wheel controls the amount of zoom. The rear wheel normally controls aperture whether in live view or not until the zoom is activated. I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for...

Duuhhh. Now I feel dumb. LOL

That worked like a charm.

I had no idea the OK button activated the live zoom.

Problem solved.

You might be looking for the "quick zoom" setting. This controls the default magnification that's shown at first:

You can also set the "Quick Zoom" level (playback menu) so that when you press "Ok" it goes to that zoom level (I have mine fairly well magnified initially to save time and if you like you can go straight to 100%).

Not quite sure of your use case as I would find the rear e-dial would be far quicker to zoom with than buttons but in any case that is the only option.

I like to zoom with the rear dial... everything just "clicked" when I transitioned from the K-01 to thr K-30: rear dial zooms, front dial goes back and forth in the gallery while maintaining magnification and position.
Very handy when checking focus or blur or whatever.
