Hi every one coondog is back on the hunt for info again I was in this wonderful club some 15 years ago and learned so much plus what a great bunch you all are. I now have a canon 6D and 3L lens I was wondering if my old PK lens would be good enough to put on the 6D since now I am spoiled rotten with L lens. Then started finding lots of info about using vintage glass so I now need help from my old friends at pentax once again. I have a tak 135mm F 2.5 6 element M 42 with what looks like a very small piece of maybe? cleaning paper under the front glass. Can I get to it removing the ring or what ? please tell me what steps are needed. If I can I would clean all the glass while im in there. It has been a very long time since I have been inside a lens (prime one only) also what is a good brand of spanner THANK YOU

I also have a 6D and have shot the Super Tak 135/2.5v2. Excellent center sharpness, about F3 is the best balance between good bokeh and controlling the abberation. Bokeh has interesting character at mid-distances, and can produce 'cats-eye' in the balls. Significant magenta and green in the out of focus bokeh wide open.

See this thread for lots of info on Lens Disassembly. I have CLA's this exact model before but didn't document it. The thinner front ring on this model can make it a little harder to remove compared to it's brothers. The construction is similar to the other mid-tele taks.

Some types of fungus look a bit like lint/paper. If it's very minor, it may not be worth the trouble to CLA.

These spanner wrenches are very sturdy for the price.

All of the Takumar 135/2.5s have a threaded barrel, so you can unscrew the whole barrel in front of the focus ring. Just grab on to the focus ring and the front barrel, and twist. That is all the elements between filter ring and aperture. I have never taken apart that barrel any further, but you may find that it's easier to get to elements after it's unscrewed.

".....'cats-eye' in the balls."

All novice and accomplished photographers would be well advised to avoid this, if possible.
