Comparable lens

Hi Pentaxians, back after a wee while and 2 upgrades to K50👌 I was wondering if the HD 55/300 WR lens works on my K50? I heard that it doesn’t, can you please help, regards, Bob.

it does work on your K-50... it is the PLM version that may not...

The PLM version does work on the K-50 but not on the K-30.

Per the review section:

It doesn't say that in the review section. See the quote I put in after I edited my post. But I thought it did say that before and I did do the firmware update on my K-50 come to that.

I also did a firmware update on my K-30s to run the K-50 firmware hack.

The K-50 should be fine as long as the firmware update is applied. I had no issues with the PLM lens when I had a K-50.

The Pentax HD 55-300mm WR lens is not the PLM version, as it is stated. This can be verified if it is shown as f/4-5.8 on the lens. It is operated via the camera's screw-driven AF system which is compatible with all Pentax DSLR models.
