KP and Battery Grip, aperture dial not working

Just got a battery grip for my KP, and very happy with the improved ergonomics for larger lenses.
But, the rear aperture dial on the grip doesn't seem to be working. The front dial/shutter speed works, as does the shutter button and the other buttons. And the aperture dial on the camera body continues to work fine while I've got the grip on. I'm in Manual mode, so everything should be active.

Any ideas?

check the grip contacts and the camera contacts then reseat the grip...and also give av mode a try to see if you can gain control of aperture...

If it does not work properly, send it back for a replacement, but do check the contacts first, perhaps a careful cleaning or wiping, and then further as cpobuttons says. Since the contacts have a WR cover over them, it seems unlikely they would be dirty, so anything on them should be minimal. If the 2nd copy of the grip has the same problem, then the problem is with the camera.

Seems to have been dirty contacts, though I'm not sure how they got that way. Once I wiped them down well with alcohol, it started working. Hopefully it stays that way. Thanks to folks for the help.

It's usually just oxidation and not crap or filth. Usually friction from use wipes it away enough for conductivity. As you've noticed, it cleans off easily.

FWIW, there's a place to store the rubber stopper from the camera bottom and the plastic cap from the grip pins on top of the grip where it mates with the camera, so you don't lose them.
