K-mount Ricoh kr-30sp light meter failure

Hi folks, I have a clean Ricoh KR-30 SP Program, which I got off eBay. Camera came with fresh batteries. Everything worked fine, until I tried it today. Shutter works thru all speeds, but light meter is DOA in viewfinder. I tried new batteries, no dice. Even tried a different lens, to no avail. The irony is, I just bought 3 Rikenon-P lenses from eBay, to use Program mode, and now I'm out of luck. Anyone have this issue before? Any suggestions?

That's why I not buying any more electronic film SLRs. At least with a mechanical SLR you can use a handheld meter or Sunny 16.
