I have a k-50 that the little white piece of plastic holding the battery in broke, flew across the room and was lost.Was able to use a penny to hold battery on the contacts for a while, til the battery door got loose. Was gonna buy a battery grip. They don't make one. Suggestions???

I had that part break on my K-50 and sent it in under warranty, they call it a battery hook. They also replaced the aperture block on mine while it was there (it did not have the problem). I can't imagine it would be an expensive repair, but I think they have a minimum regardless. It may be more costly than the current value of the camera. Maybe time for a KP or K-70, or K-1II. Before I sent mine in I used a piece of duct tape to hold the door shut for a few days, I was afraid the door may pop open and lose the battery..

Foam rubber inside the door, it compresses and will keep constant pressure on the batter. It will wear out after a little while but its cheap and easy to cut and replace.

With some fiddling one can get the hook of the K7/5/3 into the K30 but one loses WR!

Because it often takes quite a long time for this part to arrive I had done it once on a K-500 using this hook. The K-500 isn't WR anyway.
One has to cut a small part of the body to fit it in, then it is easy and actually stronger/much more solid then the original one.
Only draw-back: The AA-Adapter for Eneloops can't be inserted anymore.
