Originally posted by Ncshutbug I have a k-50 that the little white piece of plastic holding the battery in broke, flew across the room and was lost. Was able to use a penny to hold battery on the contacts for a while, til the battery door got loose. I had that part break on my K-50 and sent it in under warranty, they call it a battery hook. They also replaced the aperture block on mine while it was there (it did not have the problem). I can't imagine it would be an expensive repair, but I think they have a minimum regardless. It may be more costly than the current value of the camera. Maybe time for a KP or K-70, or K-1II. Before I sent mine in I used a piece of duct tape to hold the door shut for a few days, I was afraid the door may pop open and lose the battery..
