Any historic or known issues sigma DC lens (18-125mm) on a K10?

I have had a lens returned to me cos the buyer couldn't get it to work on his K10 - lens wasn't recognised, wouldn't autofocus. This is a sigma DC 18-125mm. There's no fault I can detect with the lens on my K3, fully functioning. Buyer said his sigma 28-80mm (KAF mount) works fine. Any insight anyone.. buyer isn't demanding a refund, I offered to send him my other one, but since there's no fault with the returned one, might simply run into the same issue...

Did you ask if the buyer has the last K10 firmware? The 18-125 is an HSM lens...Or is it the older version?

Sounds like perhaps the K10D might need a firmware update to support the HSM autofocus?

DC means it's an APS-C lens in Sigma terms...HSM is autofocus...unless it's the old version which had screw AF...

I have had an issue from time to time with some lenses, specifically the sigma 70-200/2.8 and the alignment of the screw drive when swapping between the K10D and my PZ1

It seems that the k10 and the PZ1 leave the screw drive at different angles of rotation and the screw drive does not cleanly drop in place whe the AF motor starts to spin. It is a little fiddly but only when swapping to my PZ1 and back to the K10. No issue with *istD, K7, K5 or K1

Also, and not sigma only some times the contacts don't quite align and the lens info is not sent to the camera so it does not AF
