K-1 drive mode access

I've looked around on the forums, but couldn't find an answer to my little problem: According to the manual, pressing the UP button of the four way controller gets you access to the Drive Mode menu if you're in the Status Screen/Stand by. My K-1 doesn't do that. The only way I can access the Drive Mode screen is if go to Live View. What am I doing wrong?

It is probably because your 4-way controller is set to move the focus point. Press the little button directly above the 4 way controller, this toggles the state on/off.

See K-1 instructions, pp. 9 (describing the function of the "four way controller") and 98 (instructions for reprogramming "FX2" button).
