K3 Firmware Update

Is it important to do firmware updates and how do I do that? I have a Mac laptop if that changes the process. Thank you!

You may as well IMO- but the features added will vary by camera. Instructions can be found on the homepage alongside any firmware accouncement; there's also a nice tutorial video on the PF YouTube channel

Hi Photomom2, the K-3 had a mirror flapping issue when 1st released that was " fixed " with a firmware update, Other improvements were made with all further updates, so yes, updating the firmware is useful. Each update installs all prior updates, so the newest update does them all. If you choose to update, follow the tutorial and all will be fine. Good luck.

I have done multiple firmware updates on K10D, K-5 and K-3 on my Mac computer. I never had any problems with any of the updates.
