woobly 500mm f4.5

I just bought a 500mm f4.5 Takumar. However, the lens doesn't join up properly in the middle. i know this lens breaks up in two but it just seems unduly loose and i can't find a way to screw it tight together, nor can I find a manual online to see how it's done, how it separates.

Can anyone help, please?

Maybe Kerrowdown has an idea as he has one of those and knows it well. Another place to post this question would be over in the 300mm plus lens club thread as someone there will probably know too.

Also I've seen a way to tag people so they become aware of a thread but don't know how so maybe someone can do that to Kerrowdown.

I'll post over there, see if anyone can help. I've scoured the net for user/service manuals, but no luck.
