DA 70mm 2.4 Limited

Hi
Just received a new 70mmLDT lens and it has on it a hood which can be extended. Is this hood removeable?

Yes, the hood just screws off, like a filter would.

Oh yes, got it unscrewed. Was a little tight is all. Thanks.

Good job

Yes that can happen, even when put on lightly. It should not need any real force and a little rocking can help too.

The trick is don't squeeze sides of the hood as you start to remove it as this will tend to flex the hood out of round just enough to make it super hard to remove. Light finger pressure (no squeezing) and it will come off easily. Took me a few times to see what was going on.

I use this lens on a K1 with little vignetting. To be safe, I don't extend the hood.

Incredible lens, also one of my favorites! I put a cheap metal tele lenshood on it (costs a few dollars on ebay). I wish you lots of fun with it!

The hood can be unscrewed as others wrote. Enjoy your new toy!
