Hi to ALL,

Do you know ? .What type of the M42 adapter to use with this len ? .M42 Fujica Fujinon EBC 55mm f1.8 + caps + filter | eBay.

The pin on the back needs to be pushed in. Some lenses will latch that way and work fine. Some lenses need to be modified with something to keep the pin pushed in. It’s not your adapter.

The problem is not with the adapter {it is fine} - it is with the lens {or your use of the lens}. The little pin in the back of the lens controls whether it responds to the aperture ring; out it is always fully open - it responds to the ring only when the pin is pushed in. Asahi's {company that created Pentax} M42 lenses had a 'man/auto' switch - the lenses acted in exactly this way when switched to 'auto' and always followed the aperture ring when switched to 'man'; this lens seems to always be in 'auto' mode. I suppose you could use a tiny piece of tape to hold the pin in, but I'd be afraid of the tape's coming loose and falling inside the camera. Some original M42 cameras pushed the pin in only as you took a photo; that way, you could focus with the lens fully open {thinnest area in focus}, but got the aperture you asked for when you needed it.

also, the EBC Fujinon lenses also have a small tab that needs to be removed from the back of the lens for it to fit flush to the camera body...

You need an adaptor with an internal flange. The internal flange will hold the pin in, allowing you to use the aperture ring normally. Here's a link to one on ebay, but you can probably source one cheaper if you look around.
Kipon Adapter for Carl Zeiss M42 Screw Mount Lens to Pentax K PK Mount Camera | eBay

What you don't want to do is get a screw-on adaptor with an "external" flange, because that type will not allow you to focus to infinity.

You can also modify the lens, usually the pin can be blocked in the set position by placing a short tube between the lens mount and the pin, inside the lens.

I posted a photo of this mod, I use about 3 mm of a clear ball point pen refil, slit on its length to allow it to be out around the pin

If I find the post I will add it

Hello.

As stated above, the Fujinon lenses have no auto / manual switch to slide for using them on non M42 cameras.
These lenses cannot be disassembled easily, so the solution of blocking the pin with a bit of plastic tubing is probably out of reach.
So you will need a M42-K adapter with additional rim behind and inside the screw, to hold the pin depressed.

EBC Fujinon have in addition a coupling tab on the rear of their aperture ring for open aperture metering on Fujica cameras.
It is a nice feature that does no harm in use on other M42 camera brands than Fuji.
However, when adapted on various digital cameras, the coupling tab hits the adapter or the camera mount (in case of the K).
So the Fujinon lens cannot be screwed fully on the camera.

You have three options : use the lens as is on a M42 film camera, or resell the lens, or irreversibly butcher it.

Your choice.
