What are the tell tale signs that fungus or haze, or both are affecting image quality

Not long ago I purchased a third party lens from our Marketplace. I was aware of the content of fungus and haze prior to purchasing, so I have no complaint there. However, I just wanted confirmation that the invaders are the cause of the haze appearance on all of the photos taken with this lens. The problem can be corrected in Post Photos, but it
does demand a lot of time and effort. I have used my Pentax lenses on the same K-7 and the haze/fungus problem is non-existent. The lens is a Kiron Precision Made in Japan lens, an 80~200mm telephoto. Made a long time ago.

Thanks for any helpful hints and suggestions.

TT

perhaps photos of the lens itself, with said fungus, would help?

If you can see the fungus looking from the rear, it is affecting the image. Verification is when the results are consistently softer than one would expect.

Okay, I will post a before and after images. The settings were, 1/60s, F/8, ISO 200 with the use of a Speedlight set at 85mm. I am thinking that the image could be affected by 18% reflectance as the drapes in front of the window are white. Not sure. Here goes.

Image #2 is an exact copy of the first. Quite a bit of Post Photo Editing was required.

All I did on Post Photo was resizing and adding contrast. No sharpening and no saturation, or anything else. Thanks for viewing. TT

I think it looks more like the typical haze from old lenses that have less-than-stellar coatings; any stray light from the speedlight that bounces back into the lens at an angle will decrease contrast like so, in my experience with a couple old Soligor and Porst lenses. However, I'm looking at it from a smartphone screen, so take it with a generous pinch of salt

Looks like my F70-210 on a very sunny day.
