Automatic Sensor Cleaning Help

I am running the automatic sensor cleaning on the camera for the first time and it has been going for about three hours now. Is this normal? If not, how long should it take and what should I do? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!

Is this the dust removal your 645Z? It takes only a second and is completely silent. When finished, the menu should display. The sensor cleaning feature on the other hand is not automatic and basically raises the mirror and opens the shutter to expose the sensor for manual cleaning with a bulb blower or other recommended method. When done, turn the camera off to close the shutter and lower the mirror.

Are you running sensor cleaning at start up (which is the automatic), it only lasts a moment. OTOH, if you are running the mirror up/ shutter open sensor cleaning, which clears the path for manual cleaning, it lasts until you shut the camera off, or the battery dies, whichever comes first.
