K3II with dead display

Hi folks,

I bought an K3ll with damaged display... I asked in german service how much whey will charge for replacement - 180 Euro...
So I thought to buy the display and replace it on my self, but didn't find any online store there I can buy one.

My question is if K3 displays are identical with K3ll?

Yes it still take pictures, but without display functionally... (also tut noch, was sie soll, nur teilweise)

If the display is not "damaged" physically (körperlich), then it might not be the display itself (selbst)- it might be an electronic problem.

Is there evidence of a hard drop? It could be a loose connector. Also, if you can get ahold of the Pentax Service manual it should tell you how to interrogate the camera for failure codes. If you’re just going to “wing it” I suggest you buy a donor camera that has severe mechanical damage, but the display and other electronics work. A good candidate work be one with a broken shutter or blown aperture motor/armature. You can then replace components between cameras till it works.

I don't see and evidences for an drop damage... I had already disassemble it and couldn't regret any loose connectors. Are there any websites with Pentax Service manuals? I saw only one, and didn't find the manual for K3II, it's probably even not for sale anywhere on web...?!

Why don't you Google "Pentax K-3 K3 REPLACEMENT LCD DISPLAY MONITOR REPAIR ". I found quite a few of them on Ebay selling for about $40.

Could well be that it isn't the display itself but the displaydriver. Sits on the mainboard, i.e. new mainboard needed.

3 times cancelled orders because they don't ship to germany now
