Pentax S series and auto diaphragm

Does the S3 have auto diaphragm or wasn't that introduced until the SV? If it has, are all super taks compatible? The reason I ask is that I'd wanted an SV for some time but a very nice S3 has come up for sale. Are there any other differences I should be aware of (except self timer and auto resetting film counter)? Thanks in advance!
