K-1: how do I turn the self-timer off?

I'm suffering a massive brain glitch. I turned the self-timer on in my K-1 II to shoot a long exposure and now I can't figure out how to turn it off. I've used it a million times on the K-3 but now I can't turn it off on that camera either. I feel like I had a lobotomy. Thanks!

Self timer is a shooting mode. Just change shooting mode back to single shot.

K-70 uses the 4 way control, right side. Not sure on the K-1??

Turn off the single point selection.
Press the up button.
Use the right button to select burst or single shot.
Press the centre or the shutter release.

If you want, turn the select focus point grid back on.

Thanks, Sharky. It's the same; I just had a complete brain implosion.

It usually happens to me with the movie mode on the K-1. It gets turned on accidentally taking the camera out of the bag, and I can never remember how to turn it off.

My sympathies. I've had the K-3 for six years and I shot a lot at night on the tripod and always used the 2-second timer, but man, I just completely blanked.

Is there a way to select shooting mode with the 3rd dial?

Yeah, that happened first thing this morning, and then I remembered I turned it on last night. And while I was frantically cycling through settings trying to figure out how to turn it off, I accidentally changed the white balance setting so everything I shot today (on a 2-second delay) came out blue.

My most recent senior moment was whilst talking to friend, I was frantically searching for my iphone. I found it eventually.....pressed to my ear.

Perhaps Ricoh could make a dedicated Senior Mode on the K-New: a prominent button to set timer, wonky colour balance and JPEG 640x480 without all that faffing around menus. It could also be included in a firmware update for all recent models.
