Pentax MZ-10 with stuck top shutter curtain

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have any suggestions for a DIY attempt at repairing the stuck shutter curtain on my Pentax MZ-10 film SLR?

It might be related to the mirror motor gear failing. Since the timing and operation of the mirror, diaphragm and shutter are all interrelated and interdependent the timing being off on one operation with through off all the following operations.
