Not typical. Are you using some sort of in camera creative filter? Is White balance incorrectly set? Are you shooting raw or jpg? What lens? Can you post a sample?

Thanks,

I have a Pentax K-5II and I'm not happy with the white balance. Always green !!! I have shifted the camera itself in all white balance modes green towards red, but this does not help to correct the overall white balance. The worst color is red, which tends to crimson. I recently bought a Datacolor Checker 48 . Thanks to Checker 48 now the white balance is much more accurate and I like it now!!! I RECOMMEND it !!!!

Define true colour. Explain your problem. Then you may get help.

What monitor are you viewing on ? How do you calibrate the monitor ? What colour space are you using.

There are so many variables you need to be specific.

And of course it could be due to the lens used!

Or using the wrong colour space. But we may never know!

Are you saving images in JPG or raw DNG format?

If JPG, check the camera settings. Changing from "bright" to "natural" to "vibrant" (I don't remember the exact words used in the K-5 menus) will change color processing and might give you something you prefer.

If raw, photos might look drab by default. Changing saturation in your software might help (don't push saturation too far because IMO too much color looks fake).

The K-5 internal infrared-cut filter was a little aggressive and some reds never looked great to me. Other colors were unaffected.

This was my immediate reaction ... and haze/fungus on one or more of the inner elements may not be apparent under initial examination ... bin there, dun that!

A "Factory Reset" may help eliminate the option of a bad choice of camera settings.

Welcome to Pentax forums where most people will help if you can explain your problem a bit more.

I've had similar issues on a couple of cameras. When I first got my K10D, every picture had this yellowish tint to it that I corrected by resetting the white balance. My Samsung GX-20 (K20D clone) had muted, washed out colors similar to that the OP described. I fixed it by changing the color preset to "Vivid" and that kind of punched things up a bit, especially on the warmer end of the spectrum. In issue I've had with every Pentax camera I've owned is over-processed reds. It comes out so intense that the fine details, say in a rose petal, lost.

No, perhaps he just had issues finding his initial post or something.
