Problem solved by: 1) making sure all noise reduction: OFF; 2) GPS: OFF; 3) 7 Bulb (B) Mode Option: changed from 2 to 1 (this option is found in Menu C 1).
Yep...interval must be shorter than the time to expose + time for camera to return to "standby" state.
