Pentax AF-360FGZ

My trusty flash has stopped working. Regardless of batteries it does not turn on or react in anyway. I have cleaned the contacts but that did not help. I am familiar with the battery door issue but adjusting that makes no difference. Any thoughts?

so you have replaced the batteries and you cannot get the red test light to show? can you hear it charging? How long since you last tried to use it?

I've experienced similar issue with my flash - it simply stopped to work. I've tried to put new batteries, Eneloops, to tinker with battery door, but to no avail. I rarely use flash, so I decided not to repair it, but to keep it as parts donor.

Did you check the flash bulb?

No capacitor whine, no zoom motor, no lights of any kind. The bulb should not make a difference as it is not part of the circuit until it discharges.
Basically it is no different with batteries than it is without.
Used flashes are readily available on ebay and I could get 3-4 for the price of a new one. Just curious if this was unusual or to be expected like the solenoid issue.

Just fiddled with mine. When it doesn't turn on it probably is the door. Once spent 5 minutes fiddling with it. Other than hoping enough fiddling works, I got nothing. However, once I get it working it seems fine again. That might indicate the springs below the contacts. Try pressing each battery down a few times to lossen any gunk under them.
