Pentax Z1 prism

Hi
I have two Pentax Z1 bodies and prisms have gone bad in both.
Any idea if A series P series camera prisms can be used for replacement.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Regards

Am curious - what does "prisms have gone bad" mean? What are the symptoms?

The coatings have gone bad. A thick horizontal line in middle. Like you have in k1000?

P series? Do you mean the PZ-1 PZ1P ? Or do you mean the other p series?

Isn't it amazing that back in the day, how parts from different companies were somewhat interchangeable.

By Minolta Prism you don't mean SRT prisms. SRT prisms have cut outs that have other prisms glued into them. Just mentioning so someone doesn't buy the wrong camera for a part.

Theoretically it could work, but keep in mind, the prisms are usually wrapped in circuit boards and cables, being in the way. So ask yourself first, is it worth it to undo all that and assemble it back together over the new prism.

If you have the Z-1 (aka-PZ-1) the subsequent Z-1p has some updated features (I still have the PZ-1p bought new in 1997 or so). Might be better to look for a good copy of the Z-1p. If I recall correctly, mirror lockup with 2 sec timer, and upgraded flash system were included.
