Shutter Release Cable for Pentax MV SLR

Hi all,

Does anyone know what shutter release cable is compatible with the Pentax MV SLR camera? Looking to try some night photography on film...

Thanks!

Wow man. That's pretty generous of you to offer that to a new poster. Wonder if you get a response.

Sadly based in UK, so not possible this time! Very generous offer though.

As noted above, your MV takes a standard threaded release. These come in a variety of lengths and covering types (plastic, braided metal, cloth) and usually are lockable for long exposures. The locks come in two types, a screw on the side and what is called a disk lock that is hard to describe, but which is easier to engage and release than the screw type.

The 6" type are OK, but I prefer the 10" or 12" for general use because they allow for a loop and less chance of bumping the camera.

I have a small box full of shutter release cables, a common accessory from yesteryear with minimal usage in the present; similar to film specific lens filters.
If you pick up old camera bag lots from garage sales, shopgoodwill, etc, you too will soon have a small collection of these once necessary, now largely
superfluous tools, (except on that old film body, of course).
