K to F mount adapter

I have a K Takumar 50mm f1: 1.2 lens. I also want to use it on a Nikon D50 with F mount. Can you recommend an adapter? Thank you

I asked the same question one time - I wanted to use my K-mount lenses with a Metabones adapter that accepts F-mount, so I thought maybe I could use a K-mount to F-mount adapter.
However, K-mount has a flange distance of 45.46mm while F-mount has flange distance of 46.50mm, so - in practical terms - any adapter will need a lens, which means any affordable one will affect the image produced by the lens.

Arguably, you're shooting with an old film lens. Is that the sharpest knife in the drawer by today's high-end lens standards? If not, then will you even notice the image degradation from an optical correction with mid-range gear? I dunno.

You might have an SMC Pentax 1:1.2 50mm or Pentax-A 1:1.2 50mm, but Pentax did not make a K Takumar 50mm lens. As noted above, adapting Pentax lenses to Nikon F mount generally does not go well unless one is willing to forego infinity focus, so your best bets would be to get a K-mount body or adapt to a mirrorless camera.

Old excellent lenses may not have had corner-to-corner sharpness, but they were superb in the center.
I’m quite sure the user would notice the degradation resulting from passing the light through a cheap adapter.

Yes. Lenses of the past are far better than people give credit to. Part of the reason may be that Canon users have left behind loads of lenses in mount changes a few times now. This creates a set of myths about old glass.

If you decide to try this - I would buy from a high reputation dealer with a money back option. Perhaps the Kippon offered at Adorama? It's expensive but looks well made unlike a lot of cheap adapters:

I also found this: FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax K PKAF-NIKF-PRO-DCLK

The Fotodiox is cheaper but also well made. Pay attention to the reviews. The thing acts like a 1.4x teleconverter so forget getting wide angle shots unless you have some really wide lenses. Also note the distortions mentioned.

That Adorama adaptor post#10 would cost $127.12 shipped to Spain.

It was $77 already in the USA so I’m not surprised. But that’s the kind of price you need to spend to get even just ok output. The cheaper ones will be very bad.
