Pentax-K70 Tv / Av selection is not working

Hello All,

Got an issue with My Pentax K-70. It is not allowing me to select Av or Tv Mode. When I select 'Av', the screen shows as 'TAv' and allow to change both Aperture and Shutter Speed. When I select 'Tv' Screen shows as "M" and allows to change both aperture and shutter speed.

Tried cleaning the lens contacts, reset to default etc . But nothing seems working.

Auto and M mods are working well. Firmware is 1.11

Got the lens 55-300 DA and 50 smc 1.4 FA, both shows the same.

Please help.

Check the iso setting, if it is on auto change it.

The only thing that comes to mind. I can’t imagine it’s a hardware problem. I had a similar issue but with manual lenses. I figured it out. But with af ... strange.

How long have you had this camera? Did you buy it new or used?

The ISO setting will not matter, you can have auto ISO with either. I'm stumped, I think you have a mechanical problem and hope you are still under warranty. But hopefully I'm wrong and someone will come along with an answer.

This sounds like a mechanical problem with the mode selection dial not being in proper alignment.

I bought it as new in 2018, its more than 2 years. Hmm So i guess we dont have to try anything. I checked ISO but it didn't help either.
