K1 Mark II - RESET -- how to do it RIGHT - "Wrench(4)"- RESET is NOT complete

The "Wrench(4)" - Reset does NOT do a complete reset of all items. SOME items are locked by the "Camera(5)" Memory settings.

You MUST clear all the check marks in the Memory Pages 1 and 2 (there are two pages of them) BEFORE doing the "Wrench(4)" RESET

This was a fix from a Pentax Tech. in fixing an Astrotracer Precise Calibration issue (see separate thread) -- and I am repeating the RESET issue/fix here to highlight it.

Hope it helps others when RESET fails to fix an issue.

"In the Camera(5) memory settings.. <memory settings can be checked and >....these will stay locked in even while doing a reset.
Try uncheckingthose and then do a reset and then try again."

This was performed on Firmware 1.05 -- but have to reason to believe it is not also true on other versions - and possibly other models such as K3 K5 K7 RESET

Also remember to do Menu --> C4 --> Reset Custom Functions

Confirm User modes are also removed.
