Why Yes I do !
Good thing you said that, I hadn't notices that the lens was a Nikon. As long as the out come is the same then it's good.

It's good as long as you have an appropriate Nikon camera to mount the lens on.

eliminating any discussion about why you are asking a question about a Nikon lens in a pentax forum, for the record,

Sigma use OS for optically stabilized (in lens)
canon use IS for Image Stabilization (in lens)
pentax use SR for Shake Reduction (in camera body)
Nikon use VR for vibration reduction (in lens)
Tamron use VC for vibration Compensation (In Lens)

i have also seen terms for Optical SteadySot (Sony in lens) OIS for Fuji

each maker calls it something different

Lowell, that is good information.

I will point out that I am looking for a Pentax HD PENTAX DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED WR , and when I saw the 55 - 300 I right away was thinking Pentax.
I use a Pentax K200 D and am happy with it.

The Pentax K200D is a good camera, the first non-flagship DSLR model to offer the availability of a battery grip and also WR construction. I've had the Pentax HD DA 55-300mm ED WR lens for quite a number of years, used it on numerous camera models, always with fine results. In tests by various labs, the Pentax DA 55-300mm variants have consistently demonstrated superiority over similar lenses by other brands. As to WR, with other brands you'd be shopping in the $1,000 + range for a new camera, and likewise for a new lens having WR of any focal length, but in the much higher $$$$ range for a telephoto type. Some interesting info- I keep this lens even though the faster-AF PLM version has arrived because the quality imaging I've been getting from it has been quite fine, and to top that off, upon getting my KP, I have found its AF speed to now be significantly improved!!

Or the courage to take a file to your Pentax lens mount. Apparently with some DIY you can mount anything, although figuring out which bits to file off may require owning a few different cameras
