K3ll Problem

The top LCD is getting very dim. Replaced the battery with no improvement. All other functions ok including the back LCD. Anyone have any ideas?

i think you need to update firmware , pentax just release new one today.

The update is for the Mark III. This will not work on the Mark II.

The update for the Mk II can be found in the link below. Update 15 April 2021

Check the custom setting menu. There is a menu for LCD panel illumination. I don't have my camera in front of me, but I Think there are different brightness levels apart from just off and on... I could be wrong though...

I dont think those settings are fore the top panel; they are only for the LCD panel on the back.

I-trax gives you the right answer. These are the settings for the top panel. Perhaps the Raw/FX was set to switch off the top LCD and you accidentally pushed it?

I checked my K3II at the C3 in the menu, there are two brightness settings and off. You should not need any backlighting in daylight.
