Replacing the rear glass of an A 50 1.7

Hi, So i have a pentax A 50 1.7 with extremely hazed out rear glass. Apart from that everything else is in very good shape without even a speck of fungus. So i was wondering if it was possible to replace that rear glass with one from that of an M 50 1.7 because i have one of those M versions lying around which is in pretty bad shape but with clean rear glass. So is it possible? Any help and information regarding this is appreciated. Thanks

As far as I know share both lenses the same optical design (the F 50/1.7 too) so it shouldn't be a problem to switch them

Go for it! That is the only one way to find out.
Very minor thing: I suppose lenses were calibrated at the factory, so don't be surprised if the distance scale ends up a hint off. Not a big deal by any means.

Thanks,
Ismael

The optical design is the same but the part that houses the lens group is probably different. Doesn't hurt to try, though.
