Cheap camera/expensive lens??

A used k200d with a nifty fifty 1.4 to 1.7 would be a fine start. Then for length as others have said the fa* 80-200 2.8. Goodluck there are plenty of options with somewhat older auto focusing lenses.

All very good advice, and very pleased to see Maths being used! To change the topic a little, what if the OP was not confined to the basketball court and it was a general question? That is, what is the better combination for quality photos in general? The kX plus the 150-450, or a K70 plus 55-300 plm?
