HELP! The AW sealing failed!

That's the best. I've had a starter going for 18 months, but I may have to start over. Went on vacation in July and accidentally left it on the counter for a week without feeding it. I've tried resurrecting it but it has an off odor.

I was going to suggest rice, have heard it works, on cellphones. I have not had firsthand experience myself.
Sounds like lots of great suggestions besides rice.
Don't rush the process, powering up too early could cause problems.
