Dear Pentax owners,

During my holiday in the Italien Dolomites I experienced my first issue with my good old Pentax Qs-1.
The 02 lens is my go-to lens when I am in the mountains for landscape photography.
After a couple of days I noticed that the zoom ring was stuck on 15mm and the glass in the lens won't move.
I tried to troubleshoot the lens to see whether there was a way to fix the lens. Whether it was a pall that got stuck, dust in the sleeves of the lens, anything that I could think of without breaking it. I had no luck to get it working again.

However, after an another day just before I started climbing a big wall, the zoom ring was working again.
So I could take further some stunning pictures of the scene. Nevertheless, two days later the zoom ring was stuck again and i had again a fixed focal length lens at 15mm. As I am back for my holidays, I tried to find whether anyone had a similar issue. So far, i haven't found any solutions to my stuck zoom ring/ lens.

Therefore, I am searching for some help trough this forum. Hopefully, someone could help so that I can keep using this lens.

Bet you can find a suitable replacement on eBay for cheap. 😉

Try pointing the lens up or down while working the zoom ring, and see if it frees up. My 16-85 had a failure where position affected its ability to zoom.

I have tried that during my trip. As there was a moment the lens unstuck it self. However, it seems like it is not given me a second chance to get it lose. So different measures are needed. Anyhow, thanks for your advice. I will keep updating the post if I find a solution.

I rather find a fix otherwise it lands on landfills. However, i keep looking for a good deal on one.
