repair of a tela converter

I have a Pentax SMC-f 1.7x AF adapter, the autofocus stopped working. looking at the ball contacts I see one of them is not up and making contact, I played with it, it goes up and down but won't come up to make contact, can this be fixed and if so could i do it? or should i send away?

Probably not worth paying to have it repaired but may be possible to disassemble the mount and check for collapsed springs etc. just be very careful or find someone local who can do intricate work.
