I wonder if anyone could point me to the PDF version of the Pentax O-RC1 (Remote) User Manual. I unsuccessfully tried the Pentax/Roch Support sites in Australia, USA and Europe without success.

What do you need to know? Set the drive mode to remote and AF With Remote control to use autofocus button. Fn button is not used on DSLRs.

I believe the operation of the remote control is explained in the camera manuals. As settings for it may vary i little from camera to camera.

If it is the battery it isn't considered replaceable. Although people have split open the case and changed the battery. Not likely to be "waterproof" after that though. Unless you seal the seams again (glue).

There are three buttons but you can usually only use one or two of them, depending on your camera. Usually the camera needs to be set to remote operation using its menu before the ORC-1 will function (and of course it must be IR capable),

Thank you all for your inputs, and for Bob 256 for sharing the instruction manual in PDF file.

I have tested my Pentax O-RC1 with my K-3 and put together some simple instructions for beginner. See attachment. In particular, I found that the Pentax K-3 user manual does not mention at all how to use a remote controller in movie mode.

I hope that the short document may help some, and feel free to share constructive comments to enhance it.
