Pentax scopes

g'day fellow members.

wondering if any member/s have any experience with Pentax scopes.

Specifically >>
a) PF-65ED
b) PF-65ED II
c) PF-80ED
(not sure if there is PF-80ED II)

If any of you have experience with any of these, appreciate if you could share how has your experience with them been.

For those who have experience with both the 65 and the 80, what might be the considerations on which to go for?

Thanks in advance!

Plenty of information if you do a Google search.

How nice would it be to hear the experience from a fellow forum member?

A lot of answers on questions raised on this forum can be found on the internet....

Rest assured, indeed did google search and read some of what is already online.

However, since joining PF, have found that, by and large, members here could be counted on to share in a candid way, what has been their experience with Pentax equipment.

This isn't to say that whatever is already online, aren't candid or etc, am sure they are as well.

But if any PF members could share their experience of such Pentax scopes, i could also PM them to enquire further, about what they shared.

If it might seem redundant, guess it might be construed as such. But, just seeking honest candid views from a community i know could be counted on to provide exactly that (and probably more).

As before, thanks in advance, if any member with experience of using these scopes, could share more.

Had a brief go with the 80ED several years ago, a really nice spotting scope for the target range or hunting, maybe some use for the birders recognizing birds from a distance.
Not too heavy with good clear optics with minimal CA, you see every heat distortion due to magnification tho, solid Pentax build with an IP 67 rating IIRC.
Not really fit for adapting to a DSLR camera even if one could find a copy of the PF-CA35 adapter.
Cheers. Mike.

Never used a Pentax spotting scope, but the eyepieces produced for them have all been top-drawer for visual astronomy.
