Hi all,

I have an MX with a stuck self timer.
The handle is loose and moves freely up and down. It won't start counting down, but the depth of field preview still works fine.

Would anyone know by any chance what is the likely cause of this problem? Is there a repair guide somewhere I could use to disassemble the camera and get access to the broken part?

Oops, I didn't realise that's how the self timer worked on the MX. Indeed not knowing that was my problem😅

On the ME super, the timer just starts on its own.

Hi everyone.

Thank you for your input and replies.

I have the same problem with a Pentax MX. It doesn't matter whether I press the tiny button, the shutter or anything else. It still remains loose like it is engaged to nothing. If I pull it around I can use it as a DOF lever, but as a self timer it is not working regardless of what I do.

Does anyone have any updated information on how to fix this ?.
