Pentax z-20 light meter wrong

I have been trying to get into film photography and got a z-20 slr. I read through the manual and cant find anything explaining what is happening.
Basically the cameras meter seems to be incorrect and I think I know why but not how to fix it. On the camera is this button that has a plus and minus in the manual called the "Hyper Button". I have clicked it a couple times before just to see what it does. It seems to set the meter graph in the camera so that the correct exposure for what you are looking at is your current SS and A. So you could theoretically be looking at the sun with 3200 speed film 1 second exposure at f/2 and press the button and the graph sets that as the correct exposure. Now if you look at anything else you cant meter since the exposure graph is so off. Is there a way to reset this thing? I tried clearing the "learning function" but it has no effect on this because that only fixes the exposure comp set in the picture setting.

It is exposure compensation which on that camera will allow +3/-3 adjustment. It is not a magic button that allows correct exposure of the sun or any other bright object.

Here is a link to the manual.... https://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/af/z20.pdf
