I have a question about Kenko teleconverters

Hello! This is my first thread and I'd like to ask you a few questions. I purchased the smc PENTAX-DA ★ 50-135mmF2.8ED[IF] SDM yesterday. I have a question. Can I connect a KENKO PZ-AF 1.5 TELEPLUS SHQ to a lens that uses this SDM motor to work properly AF? I would like to know. My English may be strange because I used a translation software.

Welcome to the forums. I am moving this to the Troubleshooter forum where you are more likely to get replies.

The PZ version of the Kenko 1.5x SHQ does indeed have the two additional contacts that are required, so I'm guessing it should work - but I haven't verified this in actual use. I have owned and used that particular teleconverter, and can say that I was satisfied with it's sharpness and screwdrive autofocusing capabilities.

I don't have the 2.8/50-135 but I use the same Kenko TC with other lenses with SDM AF motor.
I've tried it with the DA*4/300 and the DA* 60-250 zoom. Works well with both.

Likewise … mine is used when "I really need that little bit more reach" with my Sigma 150-500mm and it works well in good light on that lens. With an f/2.8 there should be no problems
