Metallic(Chinese) adapter stuck on Takumar 50mm 1.4

Hi,
The metallic adapter(Chinese)to mount my Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 has got stuck on the lens! The adapter doesn't help screw the lens on my K5. Probably I screwed the adapter the wrong way for it to getting jammed to the lens.
Tried pliers to unscrew but the adapter doesn't move. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It looks damaged to me. Left hand side. Any more photos, preferably square on to the lens base so we can see the camera side of the mount clearly.

That looks like impact damage on the left of the picture.
I'd probably "bite the bullet", fit a cutting disc to the Dremel and split the adaptor … hopefully the underlying thread on the lens itself isn't too badly damaged.
Good luck

Is there a screw holding a spring clip? Try removing the screw. These are often too long on third party adapters and keep the adapter from turning.

Guys thanks for your response but the problem just got solved without effort. I had screwed the cap on top of the adapter to prevent from dust, and now when I unscrewed the cap, the cap somehow took out the adapter with it!

I would remove the spring anyways. in case the lens gets jammed again while mounted on the camera you could still dismount the lens and hopefully get the adapter off again with the rear cap.

There is a reason I always advise getting the official Pentax adapter

Sure it costs more, but will last a lifetime. Mine is into it's 44th year.

Official adapters from Pentax vary in quality as well. I have one made in Japan and one made in Philippines. The latter often gets difficult to remove from cameras...

I have found that a macro extension tube makes a nice tool for removing these adapters.

Yeah, the rear cap makes a good wrench to remove the adapters from the lens.

Another problem with third party knock-off adapters (copies of OEM) is that sometimes the cutouts on the front of the adapter are cut to deep towards the center. They don't push down the man/auto switch interlock pin so it gets caught by the cutout. Not a problem if the adapter isn't mounted on the camera because you can access the pin through the cutout and push it down. If it is on the camera you might be able to tease the pin down with a feeler gauge or other piece of thin sheet metal.

Using the rear cap as @catfishjohn recommends using an extensiontube and I always get those Chinese copies off.

I use those chinese copies a lot but always I take the spring off and tighten the adapter particular strong onto my M42 lenses.
I leave them on the lenses!

This way never ever a problem and of course I first push down the man/auto switch interlock pin to set the switch!
