K50 Firmware Update

I recently purchased a used K50 from MPB. I need to update the firmware and read the instructions on Ricoh’s website. How do I format an SD card for the update? Once the update file is properly loaded into the camera does the process only take a few seconds to complete?

The easiest way would be to format the card in your camera, then copy the extracted firmware update file to the card from your PC...

Make sure your camera battery is fully charged before you start!
