I need to make a choice!

Hello, i own both a tamron 80-210,103a and an pentax a 70-210mm f4.0. I need to sell one or the other! My feeling is that the tamron is built better and the pentax is the smoother zoom. They both have performed very well for me and i can't tell which is the "keeper"?

Any help with this "conundrum" would be appreciated!

I'd suggest post photos of the same subjects taken with both lenses and members may be able to give some input.

If you feel they both perform equally well, check the market and sell whichever might benefit your coffers the most!!!

Film Guy? Keep the faster of the lenses, will help on the K5 as well as on the film cameras. Never regretted having a faster lens!

In my mind the words "sell" and "lens" do not belong in one sentence. But if you must, sell the Tamron. It does not have the magic letters S, M and C on the barrel.

Just leave one or the other at home
I learnt many years ago that it's not absolutely imperative that I carry ALL of my camera kit all of the time … and yes, I too have multiple camera bags (7) + a few extra bodies in "zoomster" pouches

The K5 is a great little camera. My daughter now uses mine.

Don't forget your username. Keep the A 70-210/4.0 - it will also work natively on your K-5 when you get around to it, while the Tamron (no experience) might need green button metering.

Hmmm - a second thought: Get a bigger car? And maybe there are some nice-looking new camera bags to shop for?

Or leave one lens at the cabin and the other one at home. That way you don't need to carry one of them back and forth.
