If you are worried about dust, one thing I learned many years ago was to stay away from ultrasonic humidifiers.
These work by dispersing mini droplets into the air, which then evaporate, but……upon evaporation they leave very fine and uniformly sized mineral particles, which are all of the minerals dissolved in the water.
Not only are these particles very fine, but they are also very hard and abrasive, and can damage the surface of lenses when they are rubbed away.

Opposite effect can be reached by air cleaners.
The do filter the air permanently and filter particles like dust out of the air (not all, but some).

Air filters likely will not filter out the fine dust from a humidifier, most furnace filters don’t filter much below 30 microns if I recall correctly, and the ones that filter finder dust add a considerable pressure drop and reduce total air flow

That's a cheap and handy gadget to be aware of. Thanks @btnapa;
I am using mine regularly. Get one. It is very handy. Just be aware that the brand has a bad wrap for sending DOA units. Most of the negative reviews are for that not the unit itself. When it work, it works flawlessly.
