SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 - Aperture Display

I've just picked up an Pentax M 50mm F1.7 for my K200D. Once it's mounted I'm able to see and change the shutter speed on the LCD display but there's no aperture info.

I know how to set the aperture but it would be nice to see and have the aperture recorded on any shots I take. Is there anyway to do this ?

This is also the case with all pre-A lenses IIRC. Don't worry, you'll get used to it The images from those lenses are at least equal to the post-A counterparts anyway

Yes, I think you will!! It is one of my favourite lenses and I don't miss the aperture on the display. Get used to it, and you will love this lens after some time....

Sadly my m 50/1.7 doesn't get nearly as much love as my s-m-c takumar. I like to keep a little pad of paper in my camera bag for the shots that matter. The useful thing is that if you use shake reduction, iat least t records the shake reduction focal length in exif for you. for some reason my lightroom tends to think that I use f/2.8 all the time with manuals, now that is a problem to investigate
